30 April 2009:
The LSU chapter of Gamma Sigma Delta presented three faculty awards of merit and named 28 faculty members to the 2009 Teacher Merit Honor Roll at their annual recognition and awards banquet on April 23rd. Details about the Awards and the Honorees are available on the Activities page, and photos of the event are available on the Gallery page. 5 March 2009:
The LSU Chapter of Gamma Sigma Delta, the Honor Society for Agriculture and Allied Sciences elected new officers at the spring member’s business meeting on March 5th. The newly elected President-elect is Dr. Maud Walsh, a faculty member in the LSU College of Agriculture. Dr. Walsh is an associate professor in the Louisiana State University School of Plant, Environmental & Soil Sciences, where her primary responsibilities are teaching and advising undergraduate students.

Karen McClelland was elected to the position of Secretary. Karen received a Bachelor’s Degree in Ag Business and a Masters Degree in Human Resource Education from the College of Agriculture at LSU. While in graduate school she served as the College of Agriculture’s Graduate Assistant for Recruitment. Since graduating with an M.S. in December 2007, Karen has been working in the LSU Office of Undergraduate Admission and Student Aid where she is the Coordinator for Athletic Admissions.

12 February 2009:
The GSD Lecture series for the Spring Semester is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3rd, at 3:30.  The Lecture take place in Room 142 of the LSU School of Renewable  Natural Resources Bldg. and will  feature Secretary Robert Barham, Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries.  A reception will follow. 

The Spring Business Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 5th, at 11:30 in the Atchafalaya Room of the LSU Union.  Lunch Buffet is available for $15 per person. All Gamma Sigma Delta Members are encouraged to attend.  The Calendar for Spring 2009 has also been updated.

22 December 2008:
Nominations are now open for all Gamma Sigma Delta Awards. Descriptions of each award, the criteria for selection, and nomination forms are available on the Awards page. The Spring Awards Banquet is set for April 23, 2009, so mark your calendar now!  Several pages on the wabsite have been updated for the Spring 2009 semester. The Committees page has been updated to reflect new comittee assignments and terms. The Calendar for Spring 2009 has also been updated.

31 October 2008:
Reservations are open for the Fall 2008 Initiation Reception. See the Reservations page for details. Chancellor Bill Richardson will be the keynote speaker.

17 September 2008:
The Fall 2008 Calendar of Events has been updated, as has the list of Committees, Chairs & Members for 2008-2009.

16 September 2008:
The Fall Members Business Meeting has been announced for Friday, 26 September 2008. Make your reservation now, and plan to attend. Seating is limited to 35 participants. You can pay through PayPal, or at the meeting. The cost is $15. In either case, please RSVP to Rich Vlosky by Wednesday, September 24th!
